# Search REST API sorting by version doesn't work in Nexus Repo 3.25

Hi,

I’ve been using the search REST API with Nexus Repo 3.24.0-02 (OSS), searching for component, sorting by version and it works well : results are displayed by version descended, by default.

I upgraded to the latest 3.25.0-03 (still OSS), and the search results are not sorted anymore, even when forcing the “direction=desc” parameter.

Could you check that this is not a regression?

Yes, unfortunately it seems like we had a regression in the release there is a ticket open - [https://issues.sonatype.org/browse/NEXUS-24601](https://issues.sonatype.org/browse/NEXUS-24601)

This issue seems to be present in OSS 3.37.1 version as well. I suppose the bug has been reintroduced. Do you think it will be fixed soon?

I’m not sure what sort order this is… but you might try upgrading to get this fix:
