# Slow proxy groups connections containing https://registry.npmjs.org/ as remote storage options

Sonatype Nexus Repository ManagerOSS 3.41.1-01

We are experiencing slow npm installing packages affecting builds local or triggered by ci pipelines

When installing/packing from from hosted repos is quite quick, but vast part of our packages comes from [npmjs.org](http://npmjs.org)

If the URL of the group proxy containing both our hosted and the remote storage locations the packing and installing of npm packages are terribly slow.

We found this article, [https://github.com/npm/npm/issues/11028](https://github.com/npm/npm/issues/11028), setting up the remote storage link to http instead of https and npm set progress=false, however issues still persists

We got in touch with our Cloud Network Team but this is stopping development

Any one of you have experienced this similar issues?

Any given help will be very appreciated
