Archiving Strategy for sonatype lifecycle

Hi

Can we delete the trash fodler content in Nexus IQ server to claim space?

Thanks
Jai

Hi Jai! I ran through question through Ask Sona, our Support bot (that purple square in the lower right corner!) Here’s the answer: Yes, you can safely delete the contents of the trash directory in Nexus IQ server to reclaim space. The IQ Server data retention task moves scan reports to a trash directory, and cleaning this directory helps recover server space. This should be included as a step in your regular backup process. However, it’s important not to remove the actual trash directory itself, and avoid deleting purged reports inside the dated directory matching the current day, in case IQ server is in the process of writing a trashed report to that location.

For more information, you can refer to the General Lifecycle Best Practices and Data Retention and Purging documentation.
