Clarification on Request Limits When Upgrading Nexus Repository OSS from v3.37

Hello,

We are currently running Sonatype Nexus Repository OSS v3.37 and are planning to upgrade to a newer version. Before proceeding, we would like to clarify a few points:

  1. Request Limits in Newer Versions
We understand that starting from v3.77, the Community Edition enforces hard limits of:
  • 200,000 requests per day
  • 100,000 total components

Could you confirm whether these limits apply to all versions from v3.77 onward, including the latest release (which we believe is v3.84.0)?
If so, would it be advisable to stop at v3.70, which appears to be the last version before these limits are enforced?

  1. Official Documentation Request
Could you please point us to official Sonatype documentation or commercial materials that explicitly mention these request limits (e.g., 200k/day, 20k/hour)? We are looking for something authoritative to share internally and the best we could found is:

Thank you in advance for clarifying those questions and enabling us a safe upgrade.

Best regards.

@Monir_MILOUDI , the Community Edition limits apply to all versions from 3.77 on upwards.

We wouldn’t advise you stay on older versions (except temporarily) because of the growing risk of security vulnerabilities. As you may know, Nexus Repository (like most software) is built on top of a tech stack of open source components, and security vulnerabilities are routinely found.

In addition, the latest versions contain numerous bug fixes, scalability/performance improvements, and additional features such as the ability to deploy your Repository node under kubernetes when using an external database.

The best reference for the limits is in our documentation, here:
