I just ran Nexus OSS 3.71.0-6 from the command line as the nexus user. Logged in as admin using the initial password, reset it, saved the pw to my password manager and continued to configure Nexus. Finally finished upgrading from a Nexus 2 installation which I created to import Archiva repos and everything was looking good.
Shutdown Nexus and proceeded to configure it to autostart via systemd. After I restarted Nexus via systemd, I could no longer login as admin! I know the saved password worked as I had to login several times before I finished configuring everything. I even tried shutting it down via systemd and restarted from the command line but no luck.
I followed the KB article: https://support.sonatype.com/hc/en-us/articles/213467158-How-to-reset-a-forgotten-admin-password-in-Sonatype-Nexus-Repository-3 but when I attempt to open http://:1234 I get the following error message:
“Host not found”
Anyone have any idea how to reset the admin pw? Worse case scenario, I guess I can redo the setup.
