I wanna pull docker images from docker proxy repo, however I can’t do it.
It’s successful when I try doing it built-in anonymous user but I fail to pull by my own anonymous (privilege is nx-anonymous.
- in the nexus settings I changed the built-in anonymous user to my own
- I tried to pull Docker images with a user who has the same anonymous parameters as the built-in anonymous.
- I tried to pull images with even superuser privileges.

If you haven’t take a look at the help documentation for Docker Authentication
I was having issues getting anonymous pulls to work when using Podman on RHEL.
This helped me massively, I had forgotten to “Enable the Docker Bearer Token Realm”, which is a prerequisite, as described in that document.
To enable Docker Bearer Token Realm, take the following steps:
-
Select Settings → Security → Realms.
-
Check whether the Docker Bearer Token Realm is in the Active list. If it isn’t, add it to the Active list and select Save.
After I did that, anonymous pulls via Podman worked without issue, thanks for calling this out.
