Nexus server grinding to a halt after mounting cifs/samba share on another server

Hi Folks,

I’m in the process of migrating our old nexus 2 server to a new nexus 3 install. I completed the install and found that the server crashed shortly after starting the nexus service, and was unable to reboot gracefully. My system admins were able to recover the server by unmounting a couple of cifs mounts to samba shares on some external machines that are used by another service on the server.

After that I could see that nexus was responding to requests and the server was stable. Then I mounted the shares again and the same thing happened.

Can anybody suggest what might be causing this behaviour and suggest a way to get around it?

Regards,

Brendan
