Problem connecting to LDAP server error following Nexus Repo manager upgrade

When following the following KB to upgrade our Nexus reposition manager Upgrading a Standalone Instance( to address a vulnerabilty) we are seeing the following error in the Nexus log. Although our windows service started correctly we could not log into the GUI console even using our admin account we had set up. Is there anyone that has seen this before or could possibly assist?
“Problem connecting to LDAP server: Failed to retrieve ldap information for user. Caused by: javax.naming.CommunicationException:”

Hi Matthew. I do appreciate the recommendation but we only have open source and therefore wanting to see if anyone has seen this issue before or had any recommendations on our issue on this forum.
