Docker storage management in Nexus

In case of a docker repository, when aggregating the uploaded artifact sizes based on the request.log, the extracted sum is much smaller, than the size of the blob storage. How is nexus storing the docker images? Are there any differences compared to a docker registry?

Nexus version: OSS 3.15.2-01

I believe each layer (and manfest) is a blob.
I wonder if you have layers already in you system that arn’t pulled from remote, that might explain the difference in size.
As far as I know it should be similar otherwise.
