Import Maven Artifacts

I am trying to import some Maven artifcats from a Nexus 2 repository to my Nexus 3 but am getting this error:

org.sonatype.nexus.repository.maven.internal.orient.MavenUploadHandler - Cannot generate maven coordinate from assembled path ‘/x/x/x/.jar’

How are you trying to import the components? The upload UI?

I am using the Task “Repository - Import external files”
