I'm not able to "Settings icon" though I have admin access in Nexus

Hi Everyone,

I have nx-admin role in Nexus repository, and I was able to perform admin activities before. But, now suddenly, I’m not able to see “Settings” icon. We are the tools support team, and nobody can help us in this. And even users are reporting the same as they were able to browse Nexus before but, not now.

Can anybody please help me in this?
I’m not able to do priority work because of this.

Thanks,
Priyanka

Hi, Priyanka,

Did anything else change recently? Restore from a backup, upgrade your instance, introduce some more auth security, or anything like that?

Hi @jzora ,

Thanks for responding.
No. We haven’t worked on any changes in Nexus. But, not sure how suddenly we are unable to see “Settings” icon. Even one of the users also reported that he was able to browse before but, don’t know how he is not able to browse now.

Thanks,
Priyanka

Based on your description, my first guess is that the privileges assigned to your roles have somehow changed without you knowing.

First, check to see it’s not a visual bug. Add #admin/repository to the end of your instance URL, e.g. https://[my-org].com/#admin/repository. That should take you to the settings page.

If that doesn’t work, it may be necessary to check roles and privileges through the database or even reset the admin role. Check this KB article for more advice.
